Having been brought up in the Mackenzie Country namely Lake Tekapo I had a very happy childhood.

The 50’s and 60’s were a special time and with my 10^th birthday approaching my parent s asked me what I would like, my reply was a camera. From then on it was a matter of having a fishing rod over one shoulder and the camera  (Kodak 127) over the other.

My wife Judith and I have built our home here at LakeTekapo and I have after a considerable absence returned.

 

My interest in Photography is mainly natural history, landscape and rural.  The ever changing light on mountain ridges cloud forms, with westerly or southerly conditions are just fabulous.  There is absolutely nothing that I do not like about the Mackenzie Basin.

 The people of the Mackenzie are very special their friendship and caring are second to none.  It is a way of life that is magic.

To take my old truck to certain areas then climb onto a hill or ridge to capture certain moods and light that only the Mackenzie can offer , Mobs of Merinos with a faithful dog putting them in the right direction, flocks of Canadian Geese following their leader in big v formations,  golden tussocks, farm gates , mountain scree’s, huts ridges, glaciers everything is there and so am I with my Canon EOS 5D Mk II camera, so I do hope you enjoy these Images.
